~Read the Intro First~

You were content with sitting at the table and watching your friends pair up with each other until someone tapped your shoulder and cleared their throat. You turned your head, your (e/c) eyes wide in surprise and saw....

Marco Bott, shyly rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. A blush rose to his freckled cheeks as the dark haired male averted his chocolate eyes, "H-Hey, (F/n)... Would you like to dance with me?" He offered a small smile.

Your face warmed as you nodded, "Sure." You stood from your seat.  Marco placed a warm and respectful hand in the center of your back and lead you through the crowd to the dance floor as the song began to fill the air with a gentle melody. Marco cleared his throat nervously as he took a waltz-like stance, one hand on your waist while the other hand held yours gently, your free hand resting on his shoulder. He smiled brightly at you again as he began to sway. You had to admit that he looked charming in his black tux and silver vest, a red rose pinned to the jacket.

You felt your heart pounding as the kind boy studied you with a strange look in his eyes. Marco was utter perfection. He always encouraged you to do your best, comforted you when you felt disappointed in yourself and even trusted you enough to share his writing with you. He wrote stories; wonderful stories, full of beautiful and enchanting tales that would suck you in the moment you read the first page. He'd blush every time you told him that he should become a writer, claiming that writing was only a hobby and that he aspired to work with special needs children in elementary schools. And goodness, was he good with children. The two of you were enrolled in a Tutor Club. You'd help children of all ages better understand the subjects they were struggling on, from ages 8 and up. Whether it was reading, writing, science or history, the Tutor Club provided help for it all. You enjoyed it, the reward of seeing a student come back to you with a good grade on a quiz that they would have normally flunked was worth all of your time.

Marco was on a whole different level, though. He'd have the younger children coming back just to see him again instead of showing their progress. They all loved him, enraptured with every word, big eyes full of curiosity as he spouted off facts and comparisons to help them better understand. And thus began your small crush on him. Until the day he offered to walk you home, pulling an umbrella out of his bag to shelter you from the pouring rain outside. You remembered the day as if it had just happened. The two of you had been walking through a park, a shortcut to get home as fast as possible, when Marco stopped abruptly, claiming he heard a mew from somewhere. You hadn't heard anything but humored him nonetheless and held the umbrella while he scoured the playground. He ended up finding a small box with three kittens inside. Without hesitation, he cradled the box in his arms with a determined look upon his features and the two of you hurried home.

Your crush bloomed into something way more, something totally unexpected that day. He kept the kittens at his home and never complained about having to take care of them. It was cute when he chattered excitedly about how well they were adjusting to their new home and how they cuddled him at night.

Marco took a deep breath, his eyes closing for a second, then opening with a strange light in them. "(F/n), if I don't say it now, I won't ever say it. I think you're amazing and perfect and I really really like you. You're so great with children and I can't help but feel... Adoration, you could call it, whenever I see you with them. You're so sweet and encouraging when it comes to my writing that... I've even started considering being an author as a side career." He murmured the last part shyly, his dark eyes dropped from your gaze to his feet.

You were a blushing mess now. "I-Is that why you asked me to dance?" You asked quietly.

Marco blinked, a little surprised at your question. "Yes, why did you think I asked you?"

You shrugged, feeling a little embarrassed, "I thought you just... Felt bad that I was sitting alone." It certainly wouldn't have been out of Marco's usual behavior to ask someone to dance for such a reason.

He smiled softly, "Someone as enchanting as you should never be sitting alone." His dark eyes were gentle as they stared into your (e/c) orbs. He leaned close and pressed a sweet kiss into your temple, his face reddening at his own boldness. "You deserve the world, and I'd like to ask you to give me a chance to give you the world."

Cheesy, was the only word that came to mind, but it wasn't in disgust. It was more of a recognition of endearment. You smiled widely and nodded, "I would be honored."

Marco's face flickered with multiple different reactions; Surprise, disbelief, relief and then elation. He dropped your hand and wrapped both arms around your waist, lifting you off the ground as he laughed joyously. You hugged him tightly, a giggle escaping your chest at his reaction. He gently put you back on the ground, his face bright red as he grinned, "S-sorry, I got a little carried away..."

"Don't be sorry, it was adorable." You kissed his cheek and draped your arms over his shoulders as his hands returned to your waist and the two of you swayed again.

You caught a glimpse of Jean nodding his approval from afar and you quickly looked away, slightly embarrassed at the show you two must have put on for everyone else. Marco was blissfully unaware he sighed contently and rested his forehead against yours. You felt your stomach flutter and your heart skip a beat as you gently squeezed him in a hug, as if having to be sure that he was real. The bowling alley was long forgotten, your thoughts only surrounding the hopeless romantic male in your arms. How on earth this walking piece of Perfection had found an attraction for you, you would never know.

But you weren't about to complain. Not for a thousand years.
